MASTER ON CLINICAL RISK MANAGEMENT

 

 

 

The Master is organized by the faculty of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Pain Management and Palliative Care of the University Campus Bio Medico of Rome and the School of Continuing Education in collaboration with the Scientific Society of Clinical Risk Management.

PURPOSE
The Master Degree in "Clinical Risk Management is a postgraduate training course, which aims to promote graduates in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Psychology and Clinical Engineering in advanced management and organizational structure for the planning, coordination and promotion of patient safety.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, students will be able to recognize the cultural and methodological aspects of the clinical risk as:
a) definition of Clinical Risk
b) epidemiology of adverse events
c) methods and tools of risk analysis
d) methods of prevention and risk control
e) professional liability and medical aspects Legal
f) ethical component in clinical risk management
g) economic assessment of risk
h) Communication
i) involvement of stackeholders
j) Medical Record and Information System
k) Insurance
l) information management and communication processes with the use of appropriate technology and documentation;
m) management of processes, projects and evaluations under services coordination 
n) project management quality in relation to the continuous services improvement
 
TARGETS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESS
The initiative is aimed at graduates in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Psychology and Clinical Engineering.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS
The course is limited. The Master is reserved for a maximum of 50 participants.
The minimum for the Master is 30 participants.

QUALIFICATION
At the end of the course a Master certificate in Clinical Risk Management will be awarded, with  60 credits.
Its issued and the recognition of educational credit is linked to regular attendance (mandatory for at least 80% of lectures and 100% of acts of apprenticeship) as well the results of the evaluation tests and final examination.

MODE OF ADMISSION
To be admitted to the Master Degree in "Clinical Risk Management” candidates must submit regular application for admission together with scientific and educational qualifications possessed. Admission includes the evaluation of the curriculum vitae, which should indicate the following personal details:
Formative experiences with certified evaluation;
Experience;
Scientific and teaching activities
Applications for admission must be submitted no later than (XX/XX/XX)

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT METHOD
Once we receive confirmation of acceptance by the Master’s coordinator, The inscription to the Master must be made before (XX/XX/XX)
Failure to register within this period is considered as a refusal to attend the Master and therefore the appropriate following candidate will be called following the ranking, not later than the start date of the first module.
The Master is incompatible with simultaneous enrolment in other courses and degrees/ diplomas or with any other course at a university level.
The registration fee to the Master can be paid at once € 3,500 or may be divided into three stages from €1200 euros each, for a total of € 3600:
1st installment: on registration
2nd installment: XXXXXX
3rd installment: XXXXXX
 
DURATION
Biennial (XXXX-XXXX) for a total of 1500 hours.

HOURS
The classroom teaching is structured in 27 meetings over the two years, with the following schedule:
Monday: 9:00 to 18:00
Tuesday: 9:00 to 18:00
Wednesday: 9:00 to 16:30
 
WITHIN
University Campus Bio-Medico.

TEACHERS
The course will be taught by professors from the University Campus Bio-Medico of Rome and experts working in structures of excellence at a national level in collaboration with the Scientific Society of Clinical Risk Management.
 
TEACHING METHODOLOGY

In line with the objectives of the master for the skill development in terms of prevention and clinical risk management, the teaching method includes, in addition to conducting ex faculty classes, the development of specific project works. The drafting of operational projects enables participants to consolidate and test the theoretical contents explained in class, engaging with clinical problems - organizational - management of the associated structures.
Didactic Modules Coordination: entrusted to teachers who report the instructional design of each module, the definition of the general and specific sub-objectives, the preparation of project work, the coaching methodology and design students in its drafting.
Tutorial Activities: The tutorial function, within the course, is expressed in supporting the student in the construction, operation and evaluation of their individual learning path and, in particular, individual operational projects within the wider educational planning .

STRUCTURE OF COURSE
The two year Masters provides a total of 1500 hours of teaching divided into:
° 416 hours of classroom
· 859 hours individual study
° 225 hours of training and elective activities
Classroom teaching: The course is structured in 27 meetings of two or three days each, starting from XXXXXX. In the classroom the participants will be introduce to develop their skills and to adapt needs to address and resolve management problems and transfer knowledge gained in operating environments. Each module provides in many cases a multidisciplinary approach to detection and analysis of clinical risk.
Self-study: You will be certified according to the administration and evaluation of ongoing trials, which may consist of self-assessment tests and / or presentation and discussion of a specific project. The overcoming of these tests will give access to the final round.
Practical training: It coincides with supervised tutorial design, a primarily operational aimed project, which will be discussed in the review or exam results.
